A warm loaf, the size of two hands clenched, the burnished crust torn slightly to expose both the steaming, nutty crumb and broadcast the clearest message of the evening. This is the beginning of a tasting menu on the Lower East Side of Manhattan and yes, please eat with your hands. Please touch. Please do not think for a second that because you are eating at This Kind of Restaurant we do not want you to drag hunks of bread through tangy, creamy butter and eat real food and feel nourished in all the ways that you are used to. And then some.
